James Butcher has spent over 30 years in working in manufacturing and supply chain including working with major retail and CPG brands on supplier and supply chain sustainability such as Albertsons, Asda, Boots, Co-op, SCJohnson, Woolworths (Australia) and award-winning solutions with Waitrose and Walmart.

James’ background is in technology, BEng (Hons) from University of Huddersfield, James is also an alumnus of University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and has spent the last decade working with global brands and retailers to engage their suppliers to drive positive change for more successful, ethical and sustainable brands.

Passionate about supplier collaboration, James has championed the three pillars of supplier engagement –communication, accountability, and support – to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions to maximise supplier engagement, participation and impact; enabling companies to deliver transformational change within the supply chain, from human rights due diligence and supply chain decarbonisation to responsible sourcing and product innovation.
